Hey hi. This is kind of a special video because it’s my birthday. Hooray for me! I thought this would be a great self care birthday project, and I'm sharing a lot here. About me, more of my vibe, swear words, rainbows, some mental health tips I guess, and a ton of good craft info as usual. This video really has it all, I have to say that I'm proud of this one.


Crafting as Self Care

This really is a personal project for me, which I first did as a mental health activity actually. I was in a dark place and needed to make something. Cuz as we all know, creating is healing. I definitely know that. Sometimes it’s the only thing a can do honestly. I also grow my own lavender, so one day I came up with this sachet project.

It’s actually very contemplative and soothing to work through. And then it’s just a nice little message from yourself in your underwear in the morning. It makes me smile, being a little sweet to myself you know? It’s nice.

Leaning In & Calling my People

And this video is a perfect opportunity to share a little bit more about myself… as part of my new life motto which is to “Lean In”. I’m leaning in… to my vibe, my personality, to what’s important to me. It’s def an evolving process here on my channel, which I am enjoying quite a bit. I am just having a blast making these tutorials and videos.

I keep saying this is my clubhouse… because that’s how I see it. I’m sending out a weirdo beacon, because I want to gather my people. That’s how I think about it. I feel like there is some serious fun and magic starting up here, and so I’m sending out this flare. Time to get this weird party started. Okay??


You CAN design your own craft stuff.

It started as an affirmation sachet project, hand embroidery is so soothing and chill to do, as I mentioned. Choosing the words is self reflective, stitching them is too.

But the tutorial here is mostly on how to create your own embroidery designs. So many people think they cannot be artists, but sorry we are all artists at heart. It's a learned skill like anything. Just keep making stuff. Thanks for hanging out. -Bekki

Edge the Can Labels Basically, the cans will be edged just like a granny square. 5 dc into each corner, and 3 dc into each hole along the sides. For those who prefer a written pattern, here you go: Sl st into corner hole, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). Work 2 dc into same hole. *Work 3 dc into next hole and each hole across. Make the Base (Top):   I call this part of the hat the Base because that's where a hat usually begins. Crochet the Base of the hat from the Basic Hat Pattern .
